First off, what exactly is a maxi dress? It is a full length casual dress (as opposed to a cocktail or formal one) that is form-fitting at the top and flowing from below the chest or below the waist. It has a sexy but comfortable fit.

It is the dress to wear for the summer. It is casual enough to be worn as a cover up on the beach, on a walk at the park, to go shopping, or for a casual or informal occasion. You can dress it up with accessories and heels, or dress it down with flip flops and plastic or quirky accessories.
